My client is focused on pharmaceutical development with a strong expertise in oral drug delivery, novel dosage forms, process engineering and equipment design. My client enables their customers to develop drug products through selection of appropriate drug delivery technology, selection of appropriate contract organizations, developing and overseeing execution of workplans, data analysis and technical oversight of vendors. My client provides expertise on both strategic and tactical levels, often supervising lab & plant work at the client site, and they are looking for an experienced Chemical Engineer to join their team.
The successful candidate will take on the following responsibilities:
--support drug product formulation, process and equipment development for our clients.
--possess a sound understanding of chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals; advanced technical knowledge and experience in drug product development, process scale-up, troubleshooting, and optimization; knowledge of applied kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport fundamentals.
--significant experience with and understanding of standard pharmaceutical unit operations such as granulation, tabletting, coating. Ideally the candidate will also have experience with other unit operations used in the pharmaceutical industry such as spray drying and twin-screw extrusion.
--work closely with other team members to effectively collaborate on technical and logistical issues.
--interact, lead, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team environment comprised of chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, engineers, project team members and manufacturing personnel.
Qualifications
--BS/MS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry and 5-10+ years of relevant work experience in drug product development.
--team player, self-motivated, highly productive, and able to generate and implement ideas.
--strong communication, organization, and planning skills and a high level of technical aptitude and creativity are required for success in this position.
--willingness to travel up to 50% travel.
