Job Overview and Responsibilities
Develop technical goods (MRO) and technical services (maintenance and site services) market knowledge and customer needs knowledge within assigned categories for North America
Collect relevant financial and regulatory information, and follow market trends within Industrial domain, perform market research and identify and analyze potential suppliers.
Collect, analyze and anticipate the demands and needs of internal customers and prescribers.
Define, propose and/or implement purchasing strategies and action plans
Deploy, apply and propose adaptations to the defined purchasing policies and strategies within own perimeter.
Define the priorities, projects and action plans, and identify the resources needed.
Execute projects and action plans
Negotiate and manage purchasing contracts
Prepare the negotiation (identify and evaluate potential suppliers/subcontractors, develop the RFQ, and define the negotiation strategy).
Meet with potential suppliers/subcontractors and negotiate contract conditions with selected suppliers/subcontractors.
Formalize the contracts and service level agreements (SLA’s) with the subcontractors and suppliers, in conjunction with the company's legal department
Organize and participate in supplier evaluation and define action plans for the supplier non-conformance and service level issues.
Follow-up and improve purchasing performance
Work with sites, internal customers, and other buyers to propose, implement and follow up on projects to optimize purchasing performance (total cost of ownership, synergies, number of suppliers….
Ensure the correct administration of purchasing documents, respecting defined procedures.
BS in Engineering (preferred) or in Business or Supply Chain or related field required
Five plus years of experience in Strategic sourcing or supply chain within chemical industry/manufacturing environment
Knowledge of procurement systems, ability to analyze market trends and forecasting
Ability for work in matrix and cross functional team in positive collaborative manner
Strong negotiation and contract Skills, strong analytical quantitative and problem solving skills
Must be able to adapt to fast moving environment and changing priorities

SAP Knowledge is a plus
Travel requirement : 20%-30%
