Corporate Director of EHS and Regulatory Compliance will be responsible for strategic EHS and Compliance leadership for Corporate and 1 other facility. Lead efforts of the EHS and Regulatory Compliance Team. Will provide technical expertise, strategic leadership and support for both facilities, including potential acquisitions, on regulatory compliances issues in Safety, Environmental Health, and Regulatory Compliance. Should understand the chemicals and potential safety and environmental hazards regarding all sites.
Develop EHS and Compliance strategy and set the direction to achieve corporation's performance objective and ensure safety of all employees and surrounding communities
Analyze all EHS and Regulatory Compliance across the business to bring focus, attention, and leadership to resolving issues. Will develop organizational capability for EHS and Regulatory Compliance excellence and lead organization to higher performance levels.
Monitor national legislations impacting the chemical industry and develop influencing strategies to minimize threats to the corporation and assure ongoing license to operate.
Manage EHS and Corporate Compliance assurance and reporting processes to meet corporate governance requirements and drive continual improvement in EHS and Regulatory Compliance.
Function as an "objective body" that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within corporation.
ensures that Executive Management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets the company's Standards of Conduct and Corporate Governance.
Establish and maintain external relationships with key regulatory authorities at the local, state and federal levels .
Establish audit process to detect and prevent non-compliance with existing and future regulations.
Position has 5 Direct Reports and 4 In-Direct Reports at Corporate and 1 Direct Report at additional plant
Approximately 275 employees total at 2 plants
REQUIREMENTS: Note: To attract top of the salary range posted would have to have all required, preferred and desired experience
Minimum of 10 years experience with a
organization, in a
specialty chemical or petrochemical industry
Sr. level management experience with a
speciality chemical or petrochemical manufacturing operation with Regulatory, Environmental and Process Safety accountability.
Bachelor's in chemical engineer, chemistry, environmental or related technical/science.
EXCELLENT TO HAVE:
Masters and or Law Degree a plus.
Certified Safety Professional - CSP
Certified Industrial Hygienist - CIH
NECESSARY REGULATORY KNOWLEDGE:
Process Safety regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.119 regulations
EPA Risk Management Plan, specifically 40 CFR 68 regulations
MSDgen; Product Labeling; European Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals -

State/Federal EPA and OHSA compliance requirements
Chemical Abstracts Service - CAS - Registry Number
