Great career stability with this manufacturing company; founded in the late 1800’s and operating under their current structure since the early 1980s.  This division is a well-established provider of after-market product and technical service to electrical power generation plants (utilities).  Their products are needed even when the economy is sluggish. They also strategically pursue new business opportunities into other industries while working internally to develop improved products.  There are plenty of career paths forward with-in the company including production management, technical sales, or product development/ product management.  This might also be a stepping stone to eventually transition out of the highly regulated and hazardous nuclear power industry.

Job Description:
As Field Service Engineer, you’ll apply expertise in water purification and ion exchange to various customer scenarios. Customers include many manufacturers and power generation plants with boiler water purity issues, condensate polishing, and other high purity water needs.  As the company’s primary liaison, you’ll interact frequently with the resins manufacturing site chemists and the product development team as they share knowledge to help with you field trouble shooting efforts.  Eventually you will become an expert regrading ion-exchange applications and water treatment chemistry.
The primary focus of this position is customer service (not sales)   There are future career paths to production manager (resins manufacturing plant), product development & product management, or technical sales plus after a few years, with your diversified resume, you could choose to leave this employer and join a variety of industries.  Please note with the diversity of customers and the larger industrial water-treatment industry, this might be a stepping stone to eventually transition out of the highly regulated (monotonous) and hazardous nuclear power industry.
Expect  25 to 40% travel with mostly short duration trip (if you move to NJ)  - - OR - -   Up to 70% travel when including some travel to manufacturing site in NJ.   Travel expenses will be covered.  Most travel is in the USA with occasional trips to Europe or Asia.
