Acoustic Lab Technician

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the collection, tabulation, and analysis of data required to characterize devices prior to and after use in pre-clinical experiments

Essential Functions:

·         Collect, tabulate, and analyze data, as well as communicate experimental setup and results to technical staff through presentations or reports.
·         Write and revise laboratory work instructions and SOPs; develop test procedures necessary for new devices
·         Maintain and organize laboratory equipment and inventory
·         Complete knowledge in operating critical lab equipment such as acoustic tank, force balance, translation stage, impedance analyzer, pulse-echo fixture and training others

Required Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:

·         Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or biological sciences with three to four years of experience with the following:
·         Experience in acoustic test and measurements,
·         Familiarity with ultrasound regulatory standards 60601-2-37 and 60601-2-62
·         Experience with electronic instrumentation (e.g. oscilloscope, function generator, arbitrary wave form generator, translation stages, amplifiers, and rf transmitters)
·         Experience with statistics and error analysis
·         Experience with soldering, making cables, rapid prototyping, and fixture development
·         Exposure to programming languages (e.g. Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++, CAD)
·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
·         Experience and familiarity with equipment calibration, equipment management, and lab maintenance

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

·         Experience in a regulated industry with ISO13485, CRF21, medical devices, and quality management systems
·         Experience with technical report writing and executing test protocols
·         Knowledgeable of good laboratory practices
·         Familiarity with product development processes, IQ/OQ and gage R&R methods
