Company: Our client is a leading provider of custom plastic materials for many end markets including; packaging, industrial, and consumer products.  This organization is known for delivering high quality materials consistently around the globe. Operating over 20 manufacturing sites in 17 countries. They also have four research and development centers. Been in business for over 80 years and privately held, with over 2,000 employees. Products include black, white and color masterbatches and full range of additives.

Your unique role with the company: Reporting to the Senior Materials Manager while controling and negotiation of purchasing packaging components and raw materials in a manner that assures cost effective and timely purchases, while maintaining a strong, ethical business relationship with all company suppliers. Work closely with suppliers to maintain quality of raw materials and timely shipments to user plants. Actively maintain a close working relationship with Supply Chain, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance and other disciplines as required to provide optimum communication in relation to all matters concerning the Company.
 
 
Location:
Working either at the corporate locations in a suburb of Cincinnati Ohio or secondary location in New York just outside of Manhattan    
 
What we are looking for in a Candidate:
 
  • B.S. Degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science. (experience may substitute for education)
  • Minimum 8 years purchasing / negotiating experience. Must have experience with large dollar / volume contracts.
  • Knowledge of masterbatch industry, and prior experience purchasing resins (PET, Nylon, ABS, SAN, PC) and additives (Flame Retardants, Amides, Stearates) is a plus
  • Prior experience with quality systems. (i.e. ISO 9000)
