Your unique role with the company:
While reporting to the Global Color Technology Manager you will be responsible for new Color Product Development in all Engineered Materials resins systems including ETP, TPEs, Nylons, Polyesters and more. You will be working on a team of 4 Color Technologists (including yourself) being involved in color formulation development, stabilization development, product additive enhancements, polymer modifications, and compounding process improvements. You will be gathering customer needs both internally and externally to help them develop products that are used in multiple applications/markets such as automotive, appliance, consumer, electrical/electronics, medical and more. You will work very closely with colorant, additive and equipment suppliers while closely collaborating with Customers, Internal Program Management, Commercial Teams, Manufacturing and other Technology & Innovation functions.
The Color Technology Leader will have responsibility for leading the global integration of color technology from recent and future acquisitions, and delivering on a deep pipeline of projects. Working with global T&I leaders, program managers and business leaders, the individual will also help shape the strategy and roadmap for this color technology.  Simultaneously, he/she will also work with color technologists in the team, product development and analytical technologists as well as manufacturing and commercial functions to execute customer projects and deliver for the business. It is expected that the leader will coach and mentor less experienced scientists and eventually grow to assume leadership of the Global Color Technology team, a highly visible role that drives vision/strategy and bottom-line impact for color, appearance and haptics for all company product lines.

What we are looking for in a Candidate:
  • B.S. Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemicals or Materials Science Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in the coloring of plastics industry
  • Experience in injection molding processing and part appearance problem solving techniques
  • Experience in plastics UV stabilization and testing methodologies and experience in plastics stabilization and additive technologie is a plus
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with all levels of the organization (internally and externally)
