Requirements:
Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering A minimum of 3 to 5 years manufacturing or compounding industry experience A history of achieving results in a team-oriented environment Ability to work independently with a focus on priorities Proven capabilities with statistical modeling software Leadership and communication abilities to guide cross-functional teams through complex trials and experiments in a variety of settings A detailed understanding of empirical and hybrid modeling methods is required.
Job Duties:
Responsible for the identification and selection of materials / formulas for use in a wide array of applications including injection molding, organic material extrusion and various molding. The individual must be able to develop optimally designed experiments and develop empirical or fundamental models which predict the effect of product formulation and process variables on product performance, product stability, and consumer response. Employ scientific and statistical methods for the planning, testing and analysis of materials and processes Generate clear and concise reports with specific recommendations) Lead all experimentation in laboratory and production settings Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes Responsible for developing performance enhancements, implementing cost effective design improvements, while reducing downtime and material waste. Develop simulations which can be used to optimize product design. Identifies problems in environmental, electrical, production, safety, tooling and quality control areas and provides appropriate solutions for the same Perform tests throughout all stages of production to determine the degree of control variables, including temperature, weight, etc. Create and implement standard operating procedures for the lab and production environments Performs such individual assignments as the Engineer Manager may direct.
