We are searching for a Project Engineer with a Chemical Engineering/Manufacturing background.
Experience in Pulp and Paper industry is a plus.
What you will need for this position:
5+ years of plant maintenance/plant engineering experience - pulp and paper/chemical industry experience preferred
BS, Chemical Engineering
PE - Professional Engineer
Knowledge of building codes
DeltaV
Aspenplus
Engineering experience in material handling and overlay technology
Strong knowledge of P&ID's and process and equipment drawings
PLC Troubleshooting
HAZOP and PHA facilitation
MOC - Management of Change process
Mechanical Integrity process
PSM
Ability to diagnose and solve process breakdowns and failures
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to travel to other manufacturing facilities in the Northwest up to 25% of the time
What you will be doing:
Provide engineering and project management/plant engineering support for three facilities
25% travel to WA and OR
Manage engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring that the project meets with its intended outcome, that the sites understand the intended outcome and that the projects remain within the agreed upon cost
Continually strive to understand the leading edge of engineering technologies related to the surfaces manufacturing processes
Provide engineering expertise to the plants and company as a whole
Develop and maintain mass and energy balances of processes, then follow through with plans to reduce energy consumption of these processes
Perform engineering analysis of physical and chemical processes, determining solutions, ideas and plans for existing challenges and create improvements
Prepare and update engineering documentation and standards
Support of annual project budget development and maintenance of related cash flow documentation
Continually maintain an understanding of the effect that the manufacturing processes have on overall plant safety, the health of the employees and the environment, with an effort to minimize or eliminate any negative effects on these areas
Project Management - development of preliminary budgets for potential projects, prepare project specs, design basis and other project documentation necessary to identify and anchor projects. Prepare capital investment requests. Obtain and analyze bids from engineering firms, vendors and contractors. Prepare, negotiate and execute purchase and contract agreements. Supervise external engineers, contractors and verify work accomplishments and equipment receipts. Close out projects, finalize all drawings and other documentation.
