OLI Systems Inc., the world leader in electrolyte simulation technology for the chemical process industry (www.olisystems.com) is seeking a person with a strong background in chemical engineering modeling, numerical algorithm development and process simulation to participate in simulation software development. This position will involve:
- Development and maintenance of numerical solution algorithms for:
- Chemical and phase equilibrium computations
- Process flowsheeting and unit operation modeling
- Regression of experimental data using thermophysical models
- Working with alliance partners (primarily leading chemical process simulation companies) to develop and maintain joint software products
- Performing advanced process simulation studies
- Maintenance and development of software libraries in Fortran and thermophysical data libraries
The position requires:
- A degree in chemical engineering or, alternatively, chemistry or related disciplines coupled with a background in model development
- A strong knowledge of numerical methods with particular emphasis of solving systems of nonlinear equations, optimization, and regression analysis
- Demonstrated programming skills in Fortran; working knowledge of C++ is a plus but not a prerequisite
- Familiarity with chemical process simulation
- Familiarity with advanced thermodynamic models and electrolyte properties is a plus but not a prerequisite
- Effective oral and written communication skills
