Job Description
The Senior Engineer Fluid Dispensing will lead the development and implementation of advanced fluid dispensing, delivery and dosing module sets in the technology area. The position requires strong leadership skills to direct cross-functional teams to assess market needs and technology gaps. The senior engineer will blend technology and science knowledge with an understanding of our consumers and brands to create and deliver innovations through concept design & development and systems engineering using advanced modeling, prototyping, and robust design. The position also requires interaction with laboratories, manufacturing, marketing, peers and suppliers.

NOTE: This engineering position is a hands-on role developing specifications, developing solutions to fit the specifications, testing to be sure the specifications are met. This engineer will need to understand low velocity flows, fluid flow, system design, viscosities and be able to make fluid measurements.

Summary of Desired Skills and Job Role:
The focus of this role is to work on 2-3 years-out technical design advantage projects for fluid dispensing systems, developing next modules and module sets. You will design new dispensing systems, including bulk dispensing and identify new and most cost effective dispensing technology. Role objectives - become familiar with current dispensing application, create a technology roadmap around dispensing opportunities, interface with chemistry team (who will integrate knowledge around formulation, etc. for the role the fluid plays in all of this). You should have knowledge of storing, metering and applying fluid dispensing or fluid storage & transportation engineering experience along with expertise in mechanical design of fluid handling, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, etc., especially from the experimental side, measurement system knowledge, data acquisition and DOE experience. You should be a problem solver with the ability to get to the fundamentals of the problem, looking at the lowest energy needed to accomplish the task.

This opportunity provides advancement potential since this top-performing company is looking to develop a dispensing program within the team the Senior Engineer could eventually lead this team of 5-8 people, driving the technology roadmap and addressing specific issues identified in the strategy setting.

Daily/Weekly duties include:

Analyze systems, synthesize concepts and execute breakthrough and disruptive innovations that deliver on consumer, trade partner and requirements.
Create roadmaps aimed at delivering on solutions that not only win in the marketplace today but also in the future creating a sustainable competitive advantage
Interact with Regional Marketing, Global Consumer Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and outside suppliers to provide and obtain necessary information.
Interact with Chemistry/Chemical Process, Controls/Electronics, and subsystem groups to integrate related fluid dynamic principles into concepts.
Present periodic project reviews as required.
Search and apply for patent applications for novel developments
Apply simulation based design techniques to develop and evaluate alternate technical system solutions.
Apply Six Sigma tools, Robust Design, DOE (Design of Experiment) principles and logical problem solving methodologies and tools.
Guide the work of designers and model makers globally to develop necessary prototypes.
Guide the work of technicians to execute test procedures.
Analyze, evaluate and document data to be referenced by future project teams.
Support cross product design and system engineering and Drive system solutions that optimize cost, quality, performance and time to market.

Requirements:
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with relevant knowledge and a minimum of 6 years experience in the relevant field.
Advanced Engineering degree a plus.
Experience in Robust Product Design including experimental experience in the field of fluid dynamics, fluid flow measurements and fluid mixing.
Experience with concept creation, prototype development and testing
Six Sigma training or certification a plus.
Ability to convert customer requirements into measurable, functional product requirements.
Strong systems engineering focus in the analysis, design and integration of major subsystems and their interactions.
Broad technical skills and in-depth knowledge in dosing, mixing and fluid transport.
